don't understand why the book that i want is usually the last meat,
"sorry, we have only one left ka." eerrr.. perfect! i pay full price just
to get a second-hand book condition? so take it or leave it.
Murphy's law?
if the sun shines brightest after storm, then i could stumble on something
unexpected! i was shopping for a certain book and "out of stock, krup",
ok that's not a surprise, but what's not my expectation is
just never thought that they'd import this one!
let me put an excerpt from its back cover so that it can give your some ideas
which is, of course, more attractive than my words.
"...now gives birth to a cast of gruesomely sympathetic children:
misunderstood outcasts who struggle to find love and belonging
in their cruel, cruel worlds. His lovingly lurid illustrations evoke
both the sweetness and tragedy of these hopeful yet hapless beings."
except for its exorbitant price, there's no reason for not putting it in the cart.
[but that's "my" problem, not the book itself. i'm earning low-baht income but
buy something in $ or ฃ] and only one warning i'd have here is it's not something
for kids.
let's take a peek of it!
Since illustration plays the major role here, i put everything to it.
The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & other Stories
[Tim Burton] ISBN 0-571-22444-X Faber & Faber, 115 pages
Staring Girl
I once knew a girl
who would just stand there and stare.
At anyone or anything,
she seemed not to care.
She'd stare at the ground,
She'd stare at the sky.
She'd stare at you for hours,
and you'd never know why.
But after winning the local staring contest,
she finally gave her eyes
a well-deserved rest.
